Epic Blue, creator of personal safety solutions to reliably know exactly where people are in critical situations whether indoor or outdoor, today announced that the company raised 1M€ in Seed funding. The round was led by SPDG Ventures and joined by the previous investors, InvestLink and imec.istart Fund.
The investment will be used by Epic Blue to accelerate commercial expansion and further grow the R&D team.

Indoor positioning has become an essential factor in today's connected world. Initial demand came from first responders, security and industrial safety organisations. Now operational managers in mining, oil and gas, smart cities, health care, hospitality, and office management want to move beyond GPS and investment-heavy beacon-based localisation. The Epic Blue approach of low-to-no infrastructure ensures a high return on investment to its customers.
"This latest round feeds the Epic Blue ambitions for accelerated growth and technology leadership in the localisation markets. Next to indoor positioning, we see a growing need for solutions that counter GPS-spoofing and location-hacking," says Epic Blue's CEO Michael Ilsbroux.
Michael continues, "We're delighted to welcome SPDG Ventures to the Epic Blue team and value the continued engagement by InvestLink and imec.istart Fund. With SPDG Ventures and Mr Marc Melviez as director, we add a strong and experienced partner to support Epic Blue's business. We're also looking to expand our team of highly talented engineers and sales in the short term."
